I appreciate the feedback.

Net worth? I have just enough to get by.

I live with my parents for now until I get a secure job.
I have an internship with KPMG for 3 months and then I will know
to start full-time or use the internship exp for full-time with another company.

I'm looking for a job that will give me the skills and help me get by
we are talking at least 40k a year.

I know accountants start off 47k-55k a year but I'd rather take a paycut to learn about how housing properties are valued, what tools/programs are used, licenses to pass, etc

Please keep these posts coming. Thank you again.

Thank you for your consideration.
I recently graduated college at 21, from Georgia State University with an Accounting degree. I chose Accounting because I wanted to learn the role of accounting in business and had thoughts of becoming a CPA. After interning at a local CPA firm and talking with numerous Big Four professionals, I came to realize that although I did well in accounting and took full advantage of accounting clubs and associations, real estate was my true passion.

I paid my way through college with part-time employment, Georgia's state-funded scholarship, and have no debt. Recently, I have explored real estate forums, asked my former real estate professors about real estate careers, and have been reading textbooks on the basics of real estate.
Now for the question.

If you were 21, out of college, and with no real liabilities, what paths would you take? I have an interest in the commercial real estate market and have been considering the Commercial appraiser route or Analyst positions. Next month, I start a 3-month internship with KPMG, and then I start full-time or leave for something else depending on my real estate opportunities.

My long-term goal is to manage several commercial real estate assets.

I look forward to any personal stories of success, steps you have done differently, advice, or career prospects.

Thank you.
