@Loma Kaaloa Aloha!  Yes, I definitely have plan to keep the charm.  It's definitely one of the reasons we chose to live in Wahiawa.  I love plantation style!  Will definitely keep everyone posted.

@Stanley Parsley thank you for the welcome!  where exactly would i find the local real estate groups?  and can you point me in the right direction in regards to the grant programs?

@Michael Borger aloha!  i see you live in SD.  Do you analyze your deals from SD or do you fly to Hawaii?  In regards to the work, do you have a team here that works on them for you?

@Mark Waite Aloha mark!  I'll be visiting Maui in a couple weeks!

@Alan Kahanu Aloha Alan!  I'm assuming you analyze your deals from Hawaii?  Same question I posed for Michael - how to make a confident deal from a different state?  Do you study a specific city that you're interested in?

My name is Heather Castellano.  I was born and raised on Oahu, Hawaii.  My background in real estate has only been purchasing for principal residence.  I am a mom by day and a Dean of Instructors for 101 Financial the rest of the day.

My first real estate goal is to revitalize the community of Wahiawa that I live in through first single family homes (vacant land and improving existing homes) then eventually moving on to multi-unit homes or apartment complexes.  We also have old buildings that have retail spaces on the bottom and apartments above.  I would love to update and improve these to keep the old community charm but with a modern twist.

I came to BiggerPockets through my research on the internet in how to do specific real estate deals (land contracts, foreclosure/short sale/auction investing, etc).  I decided to register to be a part of the website due to the constant results in my research that came from BiggerPockets.

I'm excited to be here, excited to learn and excited to meet so many people that have the same goals and interests as myself.

Mahalo, Heather
