The house I'm renting went for auction beginning of Dec 2010 nobody bought it so it went back to the bank. They sent me certified letter saying where we can send our rent and our lease agreement to. I called the lady at the bank and let her know that I was mailing her my lease and she told me they we not planning to do anything really until after the holidays. Jan 10,2011 (about a month after I spoke to her ) I received a certified letter of notice to vacate and if I did by Feb 1,2011 they would give me keys for cash but if I moved later than that they would not give me anything and want me out by Feb 16. I live in Washington State and I have a 2 year lease and I rented from a property management company so my lease is good. It doesn't expire for another 15 months and I've lived here 8 months and have always paid my rent on time. I also sent my January's rent to the bank (I even sent it early). So anyhow I also responded to her notice to vacate by emailing her. I let her know of the Protecting tenants at foreclosure act and told her that I thought they had to at least give me 90 days and I also told her I was going to look into my rights for continuing out my lease. I also counter offered and asked for a little more time and still to give me the money because the amount they offered me is only half of  what it would cost me to move and I am struggling in this economy and do not have  the money for the rest I need time to save. That was about a week ago and I still have not heard from her. I also tried calling her 2 days ago left her a message asking her if they could pay for my moving expenses which would be around 3,000 and we would be happy to move by Feb 1. And I still have not heard back from her. My husband tried calling her today but she didn't answer and he didn't leave a message either we will try again tomorrow. Anyone have any advice or help. Thank you!!
