I'm definitely more interested in the investment side of things at the moment but I'm not opposed to anything right now.

Hi! I've already posted once on here but here's a little about me.

My name is Jack O'Malley, I'm 20 years old living in Corvallis, Oregon, but thinking about investing in either Salem or Portland. I'm not quite ready to start looking into deals quite yet because I'm getting my emergency fund all funded before I really start thinking about buying anything. I've been researching everything I can to prepare myself, and am currently working on a construction site in Salem as an assistant superintendent, and my dad has been in construction for as long as I can remember so I should have a great contact list of people to help me when I need it.

Me and my girlfriend have talked about potentially buying her parents rental house to house hack to start us out. Thinking about RE investing and all of its benefits gets me really excited about the future and I can't wait to get started!

@Wale Lawal thank you so much that makes so much sense!

I'm 20 years old, never had any debt or credit before. I don't currently have any property and probably won't for at least a year or 2. My parents are huge Dave Ramsey advocates, and I think they're unsure about my interest in real estate investing because of the usual "need" for different forms of financing. They're not against mortgages, just borrowing of any other kind. As I research I'm starting to realize the benefit financing can have for this type of investing to scale your portfolio. When I do purchase my first property I want to put as much down as possible and house hack my way to my second property. Any advice or different ways I can think about how financing could be a useful tool?
