Hi, my name is jacob (18) and i’m from minnesota trying to start a small shoveling business this winter with a partner. I don’t believe that we will be making a whole lot of money this winter but we both want the experience that this will bring. we are going to start from ground up and will try to profit as much as possible as honest as possible. anyone know if we are able to write off expenses like gas, shovels, salt/sand without an llc or is that something i will need to set up. Again i don’t think we’ll be making all that much money this winter so i don’t want to be stuck in a situation where i have to pay a lot of money in taxes at the end of the year. any advice helps!! working on being a first generation business owner :)

thanks biggerpockets community

Im 17 years old and planning to eventually move out when I graduate and rent a house. I would like to live with a couple of buddies so rent is cheaper, and am thinking a 3-4 bed single family home. Will there be landlords willing to rent to a group of young guys? Will it be hard to find a willing landlord? Any information is appreciated!!

I have also been following bigger pockets, and reading many real estate related books, in hopes to become a successful real estate investor some day.

@Bob Daniels thank you so much for the comment!!! it help me out so much :)

I am 16 years old and I would like to start renting out a house by the time I’m 20. I’ve listened to many bigger pockets podcasts, and I’ve received many opinions from my father but I’m am still confused. I want to get into the electrician trade to build up enough money for down payments on houses, and my dad says that it isn’t possible for me to rent out a house when I am 20. Could anyone give me precise steps on how I could accomplish renting out a house by 20? Do I need to go to school in real estate? How can I get a down payment on a house around 5%? Will tenants sign with me if I’m new/young, and if I don’t have a real estate degree? I just need help and tips because I can’t find much on the internet for younger people interested in real-estate and how to pursue that. Thank you :)
