Welcome to BiggerPockets and congratulations on starting your journey as a new agent in Los Angeles!
Starting a real estate investing journey requires education, understanding the market, setting clear goals, and leveraging experience. It's best to start small, and get advice from those who know, and understand how to check things carefully. Make friends in the field, be patient, keep going even when it's hard, and be ready to change when needed. Look at home listings, listen to talks, and join online chats to keep up-to-date and be flexible.
Good luck!
Thank you for the advice!

welcome.
definitely start with a house hack.
i started by renting my first primary residence out when I moved into a bigger place. i still have it.
i did not and do not have a coach, but i went to lots of REIA meetings when I got started and benefited tremendously. i went to small networkings ones and networked. i went to big pitchfests suspecting they were pitchfests, got pitched at, didn't buy anything, and networked at those too.
Thank you! I will find some REIA meetings to attend in my area.

I’m thrilled to introduce myself as a new agent in the Los Angeles area and joined BiggerPockets to make more connections, friends and most importantly to learn what to do with my money when it comes to investing.
This is a huge site and I have absolutely no idea where to start. I guess I’ll start by asking where did you guys start when it comes to investing? How far along are you now? Did you have a coach? What have been your lessons in investing that you can pass onto others?
Thank you!

Thank you!!
Quote from @Jonathan Greene:
See who lists the most investor-friendly properties inside of your office if you haven't. When you are licensed, you soon realize 99 percent of agents don't know anything about investing so when you find someone who does and works with investors, that is who you want to associate with or assist.

Hi, my name is Jada Lazenby. I’m 25 years old and new Real Estate Agent in the Los Angeles area.
Before becoming an agent I’ve always had a long term goal of being a landlord, whether it be through a family home or an apartment building. My new goals I would love to own a laundry mat and/or a parking lot to make more passive income.
I don’t have much family that’s in Real Estate or own any businesses as such so I’m very interested in learning as much as I can from everyone!
I would love to connect and network with as many people as possible! :)
