I am working to save a 5 figure amount to have as a safety net for my "Jump" into buying my first property. I do not have any plans for the type of property I will purchase (duplex, condo, etc.). I would like to put myself in a situation to where I am house hacking, however I am not fully knowledgable of my options. While I work to save, what else can I be doing? Getting my license? Is this worth the time? Finding an agent? Learning areas and looking for high potential gentrification zones? I have access to VA loans, and have high enough credit for approval, Other than reaching out to banks and creating relationships, what would help me get more "In the know", to set me up for success?
