Post: Property Tax in South Carolina

Hello ~ I am looking at properties in South Carolina (north Augusta specifically) and would like to make sure I understand the property tax rate. From what I read, for rental properties the annual tax is 6% of the appraised value multiplied by a millage. Overall it works out to about 0.5% of the property value.  I've bought several properties through Roofstock and often use them to evaluate properties.  Their pro-forma statements for SC properties has the rate at almost 2%.  I've found errors on their pages before, but if it is an error, I haven't come across one so widespread.

Any insight would be appreciated!

Hi, in Fairburn, Union City, Fairburn.

Hi all,

I'm looking for some recommendations for an Atlanta area property manager. After several years with my current manager, and comparing them to managers I've used elsewhere, they appear to specialize in tenant turnover and marked up repair costs.

The Google reviews for the pms all seem to be great, but I'm skeptical and hoping to get some recommendations. Thanks in advance!
