I'm looking for advice on selecting a bank to fulfill my personal and business needs in the metro Detroit area. I would like to be able to easily transfer funds from a personal account to my LLC's business account in order to manage my expenses. I'm also looking to hopefully establish a relationship to help fund future projects. I've heard good things about Chase, but I'm looking for recommendations on smaller banks or credit unions. I've talked to Chase already and the most they can do for me as far as lending to my LLC for the purposes of acquiring properties and rehabs is a business credit card. Are there more investor friendly banks in this area, and am I better off going towards smaller banks? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jal

Hi Jason, I have heard that the Renegade Detroit Investors and the Michigan Real Estate Investors are both great groups to participate in. They are pretty far from you, so I would recommend checking out Meetup to see if there are any REIAs closer to you. If there aren't, you can always start your own Meetup and find local investors that way!

Good luck!

I have both 101 and 202. I enjoy them both. eBay is definitely the way to go to get them. I plan on getting the kids' edition for when my daughter is old enough. Can never start too young, I wish my parents taught me this stuff when I was a kid!

Post: Investing in Detroit after city goes bankrupt?

Hello all,

I am a new investor wanting to get rental properties in the Detroit market. During my research on finding properties, the news breaks that Detroit is filing for bankruptcy. I'm basically looking for advice on if this news should deter me from considering investing in Detroit? Or if this situation actually might bring out more opportunities?

Thanks in advance!
