Thanks for the welcome, Jo-Ann.  If I can find the right deals in the OC, I'll definitely do that.  I'm also looking into Oceanside, as well.

I'm excited to get started on BiggerPockets.  I've been listening to the Podcasts for several weeks, read Josh and Brandon's Real Estate Investing, and have kicked around on BP long enough to know that this is a Community I'd like to be a part of.  The knowledge, professionalism, and true 'pay-it-forward' spirit is nothing short of amazing.

My wife and I were born and raised in New Jersey.  She's a WVU grad and I'm a U.S. Naval Academy grad (Economics and General Engineering).  The U.S. Marine Corps brought us out to California 13 years ago for our first duty station; and we never left.  Today, I'm out of the Corps and have an executive position in, what's becoming, a household brand name.

I enjoy my day job.  I'm paid well and have great benefits.  However, I've come to the realization that I need to start establishing some stronger, steadier, and consistent long-term income streams.  My wife and I want to leave a strong legacy for our three kiddos that will, undeniably, be something that will last for generations.  I have a unique opportunity that allows me flexibility and (although somewhat limited at this point) resources.  It's time for me to parlay my situation to develop something lasting for our family.

My interest is Buy and Hold properties.  In the near-term, my goal is to acquire one.  I'd like to get my 'foot in the door' with the right deal in order to gain some momentum with what's become very apparent to me as the best way to gain long-term wealth and financial stability.

Thanks to all that have already put so much into building this Community and the resources it provides.  I look forward to becoming a part going forward.
