Hi all,

I own a three bedroom unit and rent out two of the bedrooms to separate tenants. One of the tenants has requested that his girlfriend move in with us for the last ~3 months of the lease since her lease will be up at the beginning of that three month period. After those three months are over and the lease ends, they are planning on finding a different place all for themselves.

I'm not completely opposed, but I also don't want to let someone move in to my property for free nor do I want to allow something that will cause a potential problem in the future.

Has anyone else been in a situation like this? Would it make sense to charge them double the current rent for the single room they would stay in? Up the rent for that room some percentage which allows them to pay a smaller amount each but overall a larger amount? Put my foot down and say no to avoid any potential headaches?

Thanks!
