@Justin R. Have you taken a technical route. I am sure there is away to track this guy down through the emails he/she sent. Unless he/she hid his IP address while doing all of this chat back and forth. Best case scenario he didn't! Its worth looking into. That's if you're looking to put this guy behind bars and its not hard to find IP's a quick search in google may be able to tell you for free where the guy is located. (Just A Thought)

I am no professional, but whoever wired that money to that account needs to swallow a big piece of humble pie. I like what the guy suggested about contacting the state bar in GA to file a complaint, but again I'd also keep digging for more info. I hope this helps!

Post: First Home Buyers Program - Inheriting Properties

I've been soaking in all the information from BP and have to say its been great. Recently, I read a post and it mentioned a newcomer should sign up at the First Home Buyers Program in their city/state. I took a deep breathe because it looks like I am going in the right direction.

I  wanted to post here in hopes of getting advice on how to approach this program.

I also got a tip from a colleague about a house that she inherited and how she got a contractor that could fix up the house for her. I am actually going to tag along with her to see this house.

It has raised a question, what are the benefits of inheriting a property? My grandfather passed away two ago and I am not sure my mother is aware of what she is possibly missing out on by letting her sister just sit on the property.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

@Rickey Wiley Since I've begun, I heard through the podcast to invest in Audible. It has been a good investment thus far. You can find many of the books recommended here at biggerpockets there as well especially the books mentioned above written by Bradon T. The best book that helped me so far in the beginning stages though is Rich Dad Advisors: ABCs of Real Estate Investing by Ken McElroy. Ken talks a lot about investing in rental properties as well, which might help you with your short term goal.

From another beginner best of luck to you!

While listening to Podcast 203, I heard some good advice about adding value to the forums. I haven't fully invested time into BP because I feel like I have nothing to offer. But I do.

I am in New Haven, CT and I have a great amount of knowledge about computers. I do know a bit about networking (like WAN and LAN). If anyone needs help with their computers or their home network or advice about what PC to buy please don't hesitate to inbox me.

I am just looking to expand my network anywhere and anyway I can in hopes to build a real estate team.

@Stephanie Medellin Indeed! I want to know more about mortgages. I am definitely missing details about them.

@Account Closed I was thinking that loans were going to eventually pop up in the future with real estate, so I got a loan. I honestly didn't believe that banks and credit unions were actually willing to give me money. I had to find out. I thought my credit score was bad and it turns out its really not. There maybe no parallels, but I do feel more confident now.

As for the lenders, I had some conversations and they were a bit discouraging. In order for me to do what I want, I need more income. I hope to find something out soon.

Thanks.

@JD Martin thanks, I do need a network. I've been working hard to find people that could help me. Right now I don't have ones to tag a long with, nor bounce ideas off of. I am in the process of trying to find a real estate meet up near me or a club of some sort without the sale pitches. I think I should use this time while I pay off my note to build this network and hopefully tag along with people on deals would benefit me the most.

@Natalie Kolodij I didn't finance the car. The information shared isn't the full story. I am bad at making post, for its my very first one. I own this car. I have the title. I know its not an investment. I took a hit for my family member because I knew that if they were to finance a car it would put them in a bigger hole than me going out and finding them a car myself. On the other hand, thanks I will pay it off and move on to actual investments.

@Torin Murphin I just wanted to see from other people if I should just calm down and not rush into my first deal because of this bad situation. Or if it was ok to move forward with going after my first deal.
