@Sarah Kensinger how awesome! We're still weighing options/running numbers on whether it's worth it to purchase, but thank you for the advice! If you pull the trigger and do the same concept, feel free to circle back and let me know how it goes!

Hi @Michael Baum,

The property is about 30 mins from me and 30 mins outside charlotte. Thanks for the feedback. It’s appearing that the opinion is it’s more of a liability to have complete strangers in a house with no oversight. No college close, but the hospital could be a route.

Hi @Sarah Kensinger thank you for that feedback.  This is exactly how I would list it, as parent child listing.

Hi all,

I found a home that was completely renovated inside and now has the potential to be run as a bed n breakfast. I don’t want to run it as a bed n breakfast because I will not be living in the home nor cooking breakfast, but what are your thoughts on renting out by the room? 3 bedrooms total and each bedroom has its own king or queen bed with its own bathroom. Shared common areas would be a huge living room, chefs kitchen, sunroom and huge backyard. I could put entry locks on each bedroom to allow for individual room bookings or someone could book the whole home. I’m just wondering if there’s really enough of a demographic that would rent by the room aka share a home with strangers??

Hi Mitchell!

Welcome to the Queen City! While not a homegrown Charlottian, my husband and I have lived in Charlotte for over a decade. I have worked in and/or lived in almost every side of Mecklenburg County from Gastonia, to Matthews to Uptown to Steele Creek. My husband and I own a short term rental (STR) hosting company where we "host" your home through popular vacation rental websites such as Airbnb, vrbo, etc. (And no, this is not rental arbitrage). If you ever need any advice or thoughts/into which sides of charlotte to invest, I'd be happy to give my opinion. And if along the way, you turn one of your investment properties into a STR, we'd be happy to host/manage it for you! :)
