Does anybody out there know how to find out if a foreclosed property has any liens on it? Also GMAC holds the foreclosure and I would like to purchase directly from GMAC, can you do this and if so how does this work? Thanks in advance :D

Does anybody out there know if you can buy property tax foreclosures in CA?

This will be an owner occupant home. Update still have not heard anything on the property. Were told we would hear something last week and nothing!!! This is frusturating I now see why people don't even make offers on these short sales! Do you think we might hear something soon??? Appraisal has already been done!

Yes we are in daily contact with listing agent, she says that she calls 2x a week and speaks with a customer service rep. I don't know if she knows what she is doing I'm getting the feeling she might not!!!! You say they are fairly responsive in terms of weeks from start to finish what is "fairly responsive" to you?

Do you have any other words of wisdom?

Does anybody out there know of any contacts at indymac that could get our short sale offer to be reviewed? We submitted 4 weeks ago and were told the appraisal had been done last week but everytime agent calls she is told noone has been assigned yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Property is in Central Valley CA if that matters! :D

so heard from the selling agent today that she was told would have a "live person" assigned this week to begin negotiations. The appraisal was done last week. Do you think this will come to an end soon?????? We are really hoping to end this soon :)!!!

The appraisal is being done this week! After looking at comps with my realtor our price pIoint is right on target if not over a bit. If the appraisal comes back below our offer how will that work?

We heard today from the selling agent that her contact at indymac said we would have an answer on Sept 22. If tey can assign a date why don't they just give us our answer now? What are they waiting on? Is it your experience that indymac usually counters on their short sale offers?

one more question will we know when they order the appraisal?
