@Sergio Alvarez I definitely don’t doubt I need to work on my approach. I’m trying to put together a list of direct questions to ask but first I need to figure out how to break the ice. He did ask how did I get his number as well. I thought I gave a pretty legit answer with trying to be as honest as possible

@Doug Crenshaw I was doing some cold calling from an absentee owner list that I had skip traced. We got to talking about a property and I simply ask his name just to confirm who I was speaking to. He then said I’m just trying to make sure this isn’t a scam. I don’t see how it would be if I’m trying to buy his property.

I’m reaching out to all the wholesalers. When cold calling, do you ever run into people thinking it’s a scam and how do you overcome this objection?

@David Cutrigth thanks for that. I actually pitched the deal to some investors this morning. Hopefully I get a hit back. I definitely have the sweat equity put in. Even if I don’t close on the deal, I’ll be walking away with a lot of knowledge I did not have before I started the deal.

@Evan Polaski that’s a great perspective. I actually gave that some thought when I was job hunting a few months ago. I’m just living in a market where jobs like that are hard to come by.

@Roni Elias thanks for that information. I would definitely say that raising funds is a weakness of mind. Either that or I just haven’t come across the right people with the right information.

@Charles Seaman I agree with everything you’ve stated. I’ve paid a lot of money taking courses from FortuneBuilders just for them to take their content away after a few months. It was discouraging to say the least. But I kept searching knowledge. The one real thing I’m lacking is a mentor. I believe I can run numbers effectively enough to decipher a good deal from a bad one but I’m still open to knowledge to do it better. I didn’t want to jump into the business anxiously, so I used the last year obtaining knowledge and reading books. I have talked to a few investors in the area but I have yet to see how I can be of value to them and their business. One is a fix and flip investor and the other is a buy and hold investor.
