I'd suggest start with your "why" and plan backwards from there. Why are you wanting to invest in multifamily - what's the overall goal? That will help you to create a strategy around where to deploy your capital, what type of criteria you need to focus on to work towards your goal, what your level of risk can/will be, and more. I also agree with the other replies - learn, learn, learn before you just randomly go drop $100k ANYWHERE. Investing is fantastic & very powerful in an ideal scenario (which is why we're all here), but mistakes can also be very costly. Take you time to think this out carefully, learn as much as possible, and then jump in.
