I havent had any experience in investing on real estate and i have read some on the book on rental property investing and I really love the rule of thumbs which are the 2% test and the 50% rule. My problem is i dont really know what to put on the income/rent. Ive been looking in lamudi on rental prices on the area but its varied and i dont know what to think of it. Might be a very stupid question but i really dont know what to do. Im also looking for houses on https://www.foreclosurephilippines.com and i think the prices are quite good. Im from the philippines btw. Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Jeff

Hi everyone, my name is Jeffrey Alca and I'm from the Philippines. And I'm here to be financially free. My goal is to buy rental properties and to be financially free as early as I can but I'm reluctant to be financially free as early as 40 years old and im now 28 so i still have 12 years. I love my job but the biggest why of all for me is having to worry at what happens if I get fired or downsized. I'm supporting my Dad right now and I'm just about to embark on a marriage with my long time partner.

I'm reading the book "The book on Rental property investing" by Brandon Turner and it is very very eye opening. I want to be a real estate investor for a very long time ever since I read Rich dad, poor dad but i haven't found any good source on a primer on real estate until yesterday when I bought Brandon's book. I've been investing on some small businesses (3 of small internet cafe) that earns me some passive income but I want to take my investing lessons on a higher level.

I'm a bit worried right now if the numbers are also applicable here in the Philippines because I see some rental property owners renting their property for a very low price. I'm hoping to find some Filipino or experienced investors here who can share their idea and thoughts on the matter. Thank you in advance!
