Elizabeth Weintraub, on About.com predicts that banks will begin renting homes. Her 2009 Top 10 Real Estate Predictions article is viewable at http://homebuying.about.com/od/marketfactstrends/ss/110708_2009-RE.htm
So only time will tell but this lady may be onto something.

Hi Dick, Thank you and I know I'll be reading a lot over the coming weeks; there is a lot of great information on here and there are plenty of interesting topics.

As a any Realtor knows, you have to develop a working knowledge of all types of transactions but you do find yourself looking forward to certain kinds more-so-than others.

For me, it's first time homebuyers. There is nothing quite like the smiles from these buyers and their happiness just rubs off on everyone at the closing.

I also enjoy and am building an REO reputation among banks and sellers that need to do a short sale; they are actually beginning to seek "me" out.

I also enjoy properties that have a "History" ....
I recently listed a commercial property in Evansville that turns out to have quite a bit of history attached to it. Needless to say I have had a great time learning about it and the interest has been high so far. (Note: This building was known as the Laubscher Hospital and Sanitarium and we tracked it back to the early 30's. The town name was Laubscher which no longer exists and is now just known as part of Evansville Indiana).

Anyway ... sorry so long and thanks for commenting on my first post.

I admit I signed up awhile back and just haven't had time to come in and spend time but today it was slow and I wanted to say hi to everyone.

I am not an Investor; I'm a full-time realtor and I live and work in Santa Claus Indiana. We specialize in Christmas Lake Village but work with clients throughout Southwest Indiana.

Our market is a "destination type" location and with a name like ours it kinda sells itself. We have a famous Amusement Park called Holiday World Splashin' Safari and are just down the road from Lincoln State Park and Lincoln's Boyhood Home.

Christmas Lake Village is a pretty cool place to live; especially during the Christmas season. We open the gates to the public for a "Festival of Lights" program and it's just astounding the amount of traffic comes through to enjoy all the decorations. We also have an annual Yard Sale that is also a huge event --- residents know that on those 2 occasions (Yard Sale and Festival of Lights) you just hunker up at home because it's hard to get OUT lol due to all the cars.

Our school system is wonderful; known for their sports (Heritage Hills) and the elementary schools do so much for the kids ... you don't have that everywhere and as a parent I am just grateful to give that to my children.

Anyway ... I am looking forward to making connections and learning my way around in BiggerPockets. Sorry it took me so long to do that but better late than never.

Sincerely,
Jennifer Martin
