Hey Daryl I totally am on the same boat it really feels like BC does not have many opportunities to find a cash flowing property. It is nice to listen to Bigger Pockets to gain a big picture insight on best strategies for real estate. But I do feel like it is very hard to apply in this area.

I have also started listening to podcasts which are more directly related with Vancouver’s real estate market to supplement the knowledge which more directly affects our area. I recommend doing a search on Spotify (or wherever you listen to podcasts) for Vancouver Real Estate because there are a few out there. Good luck to us 😭

Thank you so much for the reply Julie! I’ve been listening to a lot of the podcast episodes on BP on 1.5x speed I still have a lot to catch up on. Thank you for the great advice I will look into finding more information regarding the financial aspect of this endeavour as it seems tricky with Vancouver.

Hi everyone!

My name is Jen and I live in one of the most expensive cities on this planet. I got interested in the world of real estate this year (more like have taken it more seriously this year). It feels quite daunting that it is recommended to invest in the area that I am familiar with but it seems very unreachable since the prices are so high (Vancouver, BC). 

I have been listening to the Bigger Pockets Podcast every chance I get and have been gaining a lot of valuable insight. I decided to join the forum because it was mentioned in every episode (that subliminal marketing tho :P). 

I do not have any real experience with real estate at this point. I am at the analysis-paralysis-while-saving-up-for-a-down-payment type of situation. I currently have a career in the aviation industry and a side hustle which allows me to save a lot of my income.
