Tavaris & Susan, if you already own a home or have owned one in certain number of years you will not qualify. So house hacking would be the only option; I'm not sure about the ability to purchase multi-family properties, FHA loans types are allowed, so it seems like it's possibility.

Hi Tavaris,

There are state funded programs like Palmetto Heroes and State Housing that offer $6,000 downpayment assistance in South Carolina. There are restrictions like income limits but they also have pretty decent interest rates. The process is pretty detailed as the lender and the state have to review approve funding, vs. it just being the lender.

Hope this helps!

Hi everyone,

I am also a newbie soaking up all the content BP has to offer. Amy, I absolutely love the podcasts, they have become my new commute music. Vincent, I will definitely try and make your happy hour, seems like a great start.
