thank you to everyone for your input. very much appreciated. ☺

my husband and I have rented this house for the last 15 years in Washington state. It has just been sold to a new owner. We were on a month to month contract with previous owners. The new owner sent us a text two weeks before rent is due, saying they are doubling our rent. Can they do this on such short notice?
