@Mo Karim

Hi Mo,

Totally makes sense! Thank you for your advice!

@Nick Ferguson

Hi Nick, thanks for commenting!

You’re not a downer at all! I’d rather be made aware of the realities of those gut job neighborhoods than buy one and be sorry later… I might’ve been too optimistic about them to begin with, lol.

Have a great day!

@Steven Wilson

Good morning Steven,

Haha, actually OH is exactly what we’re interested in. Specifically either Columbus or Cincinnati! I’ve heard incredibly intriguing stories about Dayton and Toledo, but those are from local investors…

@Shane Kelly

Good morning Shane, thank you for commenting!

Yes, that’s what I’ve learned - having a good team behind you no matter what is crucial!

@Jonathan Oh

Hi Jonathan, thank you for commenting!

The $15k> have been completely gutters in the Midwest. Like you and other commenters suggested, it'd probably require too much effort for REI newbies like us. With no connections (to local contractors or RE people), the risk is a little too high for us.

I appreciate your input!

@Bonnie Low

Hi Bonnie, thank you for taking the time to comment!

You made very valid points. We didn’t think how difficult it’d be to find trustworthy contractors and all that. I think we’ll end up with buying something that’s newer and “ready to go”.

Thanks!

@Bruce Woodruff

We’ve talked about that and it’ll most likely happen. Just not for a few years since we’re tied to the area (hubs getting his phd from usc and switching online isn’t an option)…

@Drew Sygit

Hi Drew, thank you for taking the time to respond!

You made excellent points. We’re definitely looking into getting our rental managed by a reputable company. Class D is out of the question!

Thank you!

@Jaron Walling

Hi Jaron,

After hearing all of your input, I see how OOS + total gut job might become too much for us to handle. I think we’ll go with the “safer bet” of a B or A class area! Still OOS though because CA is just impossible right now😵‍💫 We’ll keep our eyes open for local deals, but I’d much rather get us an Ohio tripled for $500k than a small condo in LA lol.

Thank you!

We’ll keep our eyes open though!

Thank you!
