@Mason Hickman Thank you for your feedback! I’m thinking that’s what I’ll do. I was more unsure if it would be awkward to ask them for a referral and then they say “oh I can help you!” you know? But I think you guys are right, and local knowledge takes precedence here.

@Eliott Elias Thanks for the reply! They are definitely licensed in both, but the local know-how is what I was concerned about. I was hopeful that it could still work haha.

@Jossalyn Wallace Thank you for the feedback! I wasn’t sure if it would be kind of shady to ask for a referral somewhere where they could technically help me, but I think that’s what I’ll do!

Hi! I have been talking to an agent in a western state and absolutely love them. So helpful (and I found them through the BP Agent Finder). After they connected me with a lender, I realized I needed to pivot strategy for a minute and look in a cheaper area.
The agent and lender I’m talking to are also licensed in the Midwestern state that I’m looking at and they invest there too. I plan on eventually going back West when I have the capital and means.
My question is: is it okay to stick with this agent to buy in a different state? I really like them and it could make my pivot to the West smoother. Or should I stick to local agents only when looking to buy? I feel like there is a case to be made for either, but I’d like to hear some more experienced feedback.

@Carlos Lez
If you really are looking for our honest opinions, I think the tenant’s request is perfectly reasonable. And I mean, they are right. When I am looking for a place and it only has exterior pictures, I move on. Plus, the tenant offered to send you unit pictures to use. I think they are being quite helpful here.
You could ignore them, but at least take from this a lesson: to upload more pictures. This really is important.

@Scott Crowley Welcome, Scott! I’m also new and looking at potentially starting with a multifamily! Love that mindset of “how can I afford it?” Looking forward to hearing more from you:)
@Trevor Howard I would love to assist! I’ve got plenty of time and have worked in Excel a lot.

Quote from @Ethan Hanes:
Hi everyone! Lovely to be a part of this community.
1. I’m based in Westlake Village, California. I would love to invest out of state, maybe in Minnesota (where I grew up) or Utah since it’s beautiful out there.
2. I would love to buy my first AirBNB or duplex!
3. I love to swim 😂🤷🏼♂️ + I am a real estate agent assisting in multifamily transactions in Southern California!
Looking forward to meeting everyone here!
Hi Ethan! I live in central CA and am also looking OOS to invest. I lived in Utah for several years growing up, and I can confirm it's beautiful out there. Also looking to get a duplex. Have you made any progress towards that goal yet?
