I just signed up and can't wait to meet anyone!

I am brand new to investing in real estate and want to start with buying and selling REOs with hard money. As an NYC resident, do I need a sales or broker license before I do this, or do I need both?

Also, does anyone know if REI in NYC is tougher than if I invest in properties outside the city? From what I understand, for REOs, it's not terribly important that I go to look at the property if I have a list of buyers who will buy the property/building/home regardless.

Hi, Everyone! My name is Jolynn Carpenter, and I'm an actor in NYC. Like many colleagues of mine, we realize the value of having business interests outside of Entertainment, and real estate investment feels like an excellent option for me.

I would like to get started in investing by acquiring REO properties with hard money. My goal is to earn enough doing this to be able to quit some of my survival jobs by the end of the year.

When I did a basic search online on real estate investing, BiggerPockets came up. It made sense to talk to people who've done this before, so here I am!
