Hey everyone!

Have a slight dilemma, I have been licensed for only 5 months, and I am only working part time as an agent as I have a full time job because my wife and I can't afford for me to quite and go at it full time. So far i have nothing, no listings no clients nothing... its frustrating... I was going to a weekly meeting every tuesday night, at one of those meeting i was discussing with my manager about eventually going full time once i made x amount so i can justify quitting my full time gig. He said to me, if i was full time he would treat me different.... then the weekly meetings got cancled (im the only part timer).. now i get no calls for open houses etc.... i was thinking of changing brokers because i feel im not getting what i need to succeed in the business. But being me, i don't want to jump around a lot.. how should i approach a new possible broker so i don't ger rhe standard sales pitch and end up in basically the same spot im in?

gig.

@David Mussaw

Im glad i saw this post, i too am new to the game, 5 months in and i feel like I wasted my time going to get my license.. part of it is the broker I'm with as I'm not getting the training i need. But yes when i first got my license i didn't tell anyone, I'm a blue collar guy, so this is totally different for me.. i have to say though. Since my wife and I are currently looking for a house ourselves, it has helped my confidence as when i contact agents to houses i introduce myself as a realtor. Fro. One part time guy to the next, keep you head up and be confident.

@Frank Patalano.  I oh i have failed plenty.  But small failures..  nothing as risky as real estate.

I have some time and some knowledge, but no money..  which is the other reason im not dipping my toes.. ive always believed that education is key to everything, so im trying to educated myself on as much as possible.

@Frank Patalano

Honestly, (sorry if im bringing this back from the dead) but money and knowledge..

I would love to take the leap as im newly married and a new father and i want to give my very supportive wife a better life and i want to make sure my 8 month old daughter doesn't grow up like i did. I have what i call the "what if" syndrom.. back when i was 18 (41 now) auto sound and security was a big thing, there was a school that certified you and i saw it as an opportunity to jump into a very lucrative industry, so i went to my father and told him bout the school, he said great and that he would pay for my education and then came the "what ifs"...... and ever since then, i think about it.. what if i fail, and now its worse because if i fail, i fail my wife and daughter, it's not just me anymore... so yeah.. basically im a chicken sh**. Lol

Hello everyone!

 Joe here, from Somerset county NJ, I'm new to real estate all around. I received my license in November of 2018, Signed on with Weichert as a part time agent in January 2019, (still waiting for my first buyer and or listing).  My full time job is a building maintenance engineer aka maintenance person..  I've been interested in real estate for a long time now, and I decided to start learning more.  One of the things that I read was to get a real estate license to help with breaking into the investing game, which is one of the reasons why I did it.   One of my goals in this journey is to give my awesome wife and wonderful 8 month old daughter a better life.  My wife is extremely supportive on anything I want to do, so I feel I owe it to her for putting up with me lol!  One of the other goals is to ultimately be able to quit my job and be a full time agent and investor.    I'm not looking to be a millionaire, but I would like to be at a point where we are comfortable and have a steady  income with out having to work a 9 to 5 job.

I look forward to talking to everyone and learning more about real estate and real estate investing.
