Thanks very much @Timmi Ryerson! I’ve started with the Ultimate Beginners Guide and will start perusing the forums soon after.

My goal is to get a decent overall perspective and go from there.

It’s the actual getting things in motion and working for me that will be the challenge I’m thinking..

Boy, one might think this is a broken record, but this year has been a year of building some knowledge and skills that will provide useful in this business.  I've spend the last 10 months working as a vendor manager and learning the contract management business.  I'm expecting that this will be a big help with respect to the real estate investing business.

I have 2 months left on my secondment as a vendor manager and in tandem I am going to get back into the Bigger Pockets community information to prepare myself to get started.

Looking forward to great things in 2019!

Thanks very much for this post @Keith Boley.  I created an account on here last year sometime and was motivated and underway to learn; however someone discouraged me from it at that time and as such, the year has been riddled with financial hardship.  I am not backing down this time and will ignore any negative feedback from others such that I can look forward to a much improved future!  My bonus from work goes into the account next week and hopefully I have some left over at the end of the month to get started in this once and for all!

Well, what a rough year 2017 has been!  Hoping I can come back and start focusing on this again.  I really need to shake these financial challenges.

Thank you @Ned Carey.  Yes, I have downloaded the Ultimate Beginners Guide and put it on my iPad already.  I've also listened to the first three podcasts already as well.  Loving the podcasts!  The more I read and hear, the more my excitement and drive is being fueled.

Thanks Linda, much appreciated.  There is lots and lots of information on here for sure.  I've already subscribed and started listening to the BiggerPockets podcasts and also will read the Ultimate Beginners Guide to Real Estate Investing.

Hello everyone,

I created an account a little while ago; however am just getting around to completing my profile information and sending out this introduction.

My name as you likely already saw is John Craig.  I live in Mississauga ON - just west of the large city of Toronto ON.  I've lived in various areas of the GTA over the last 17 years.  My wife and I (now ex-wife) had bought two new homes in Brampton several years ago (2002 and 2005) and of course both have been sold.  That is the extent of my real estate experience.

I was born in Smiths Falls ON - about 45 minutes SW of Ottawa.  When I was young my mother and I moved just down the highway to the country with her boyfriend in Portland ON.  Spent the rest of my childhood growing up on a farm and construction company.  Her boyfriend and I built four new homes together so I still have some basic knowledge of home construction.

I'm a country boy and am now trapped in the big city.  I work as a Business Specialist in a Change Management/Project Management group for a large Canadian Bank.  This has been my career for the last 17 years; however it's not my passion by any means.

Almost a year ago I noticed a suggested post on Facebook and I wound up attending a Fortune Builders seminar.  The more I heard the more excited I got about the possibilities.  The biggest things I got from the seminar is that it wasn't something that was impossible for the average person to do.  Of course time, experience and dedication to always do your best are some of the keys to success.

I have recently remarried and plan to finally end the endless and grueling financial struggles.  Short and long term goals are to achieve financial freedom and locate the dream home/property I've always wanted.

I'm starting to dive into the valuable documentation and information on this site and look forward to connecting with all the great people on here!
