@Primrose Nyahwai lucky for you, the eviction moratorium is over with. Hopefully you have them out by now, but if your still working on this, start the eviction process!

@Kenneth Jackson thanks for the advice and I will definitely be giving those a listen. I have considered signing a month to month lease in order for me to find the right property. Ill still try to find a property that lines up with my current lease, and keep that as an alternative.

Thanks for the response 👍

Hello BP community,

I will be graduating from NC State in may and am looking to purchase my first rental property through house hacking in order to get in with a low down payment. Originally, I was hoping to find a duplex to house hack, which may still be possible, but with the very limited amount of these in the Raleigh area, I have started to switch my thinking to house hacking a SFH. I feel that it would be the same idea as a duplex house hack, I would just be a little closer to my future roommate/tenant. I'm looking for someone who has done a SFH house hack to talk to about some of the specific challenges that came with living with their tenant. If you house hacked a SFH with roommates who you were already friends with, I would still like to hear from you, but ideally I'm looking to talk with someone who has done a SFH house hack with roommates/tenants that they did not previously know.

P.S. I'm set up to get pre-approved in early april and my current lease ends in late July.  So I will be looking to close on a property before then.

Thanks!

Hi BP community,

I am getting ready to graduate from NC State in May and with the minimal debt that I will have, I see this as a perfect opportunity to purchase a duplex or triplex to house hack.  I have calculated that I can afford to put a 3% downpayment on a property that is up to $200,000.  I know that this is very minimal information, but am posting for any general tips or connections to real estate agents in the Raleigh area that specialize in this type of property.

This is also my first post on a BP forum, so I would also appreciate any advice for utilizing these forums in general.

Thanks for reading!
