Thank you very much for your answers!

Im worried the seller void the permits perhaps indicating work was not done or was abandon when in fact we know the work was done. What if the city wants to inspect and then says is not up to code and then says the "void" permits are just a lie saying the work was not done when in fact it was. The seller is now saying the city told them the work was completed but there was a mistake in a data migration and the permits showed up as expired so now they are void. Wouldn't make more sense if they just mark the permits then as final and not as void?  I've been trying to communicate with the city to corroborate but the rep in the phone couldn't tell me what a "void" permit means or anything about data migrations. They made a ticket and now I'm waiting for a call from the city.

Do any of you know a better way to get more information with the city? I believe I cannot go there because of new policies for covid.

Very new to all of these, wondering if all permitted work done to a property even from 20, 30+ years ago would indeed be still register in the city? are there any other ways to find out information about a property?

Thank you!

Buying a house in Austin and while doing due diligence found it has 5 expired permits from 15+ years ago. These permits were to go from septic to public sewer. Current seller doesn't know the history of the property and it's a LLC. When brought up to seller, the seller got the city to change the permit status from expired to void. I understand a permit becomes null and void if work or construction is not commenced within 6 months, or if construction or work is suspended or abandoned for a period of 6 months at any time after work has commenced. We know the work was actually done and there are monthly sewer bills. We did a home inspection and the inspector couldn't find the sewer line nor clean-outs but everything is working. You can also see when you open the permit in the process and comments section "open" "fail" "pass" to things like 521 final plumbing and also #attempts: 2. Wondering if these "expired" now "void" permits can have any repercussions on me at some point now or in the future and if Im going to have any kind of trouble when I want to sell the house later on. Thanks for any advice.
