Hey Carla,

Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, that is farther away than we are looking to go.

Hey All, I am in the market for a house or vacant land! My wife and I are looking for a house that would have the ability to value add or vacant land with 2+ acres, preferably closer to 10 acres. We are interested in Haywood County, but would also consider moving to Buncombe County if the right opportunity presented itself.

The house we are in currently is a 2 bed 2 bath in Waynesville about 5 minutes from Main Street. It was renovated 4 years ago with high-end finishes that included: granite countertops, hickory hardwood floors, tile bathroom floors with a walk-in shower, and stainless appliances. Plus, it has a full unfinished basement, and it sits on an acre of nicely laying land with a big yard. I would be willing to talk about a trade or some type of deal, even for a home that needed renovation if it had enough land.

Let me know if you have anything! Thank you!

@Will Sawyer

Thank you! Spartanburg County was one of my top choices if I were to invest in upstate SC and it’s less than an hour from where I work. I will definitely keep you in mind if I do decide to head that way.

@Kristopher Kyzar

@Sean Rooks

I really like the idea of a live-in-flip small multifamily! At least for the time being so I could build capital, keep then BRRRR. The only problem is my wife is not excited about the idea so I may have to do another route, but I've had her listen to some BP podcasts and she's starting to come around to the idea! I would rather keep her happy and maybe take a little longer to scale.

My goal is to be able to spend more time with my wife and daughter and not be buried in a W2. I am planning on to create a Vivid Vision along with my wife so she can also get excited about all the possibilities of RI!

@Ryan Howell

I was hoping to meet some investors that could point me in the right direction for these parts of my team. Staying local is definitely my desire but cash flow is my main focus as of now to be able to free me up to work less than a 40 hour W2 and allow my wife to stay home with our daughter. I was afraid I was going to have to go out of town to have cash flow but I will just have to get creative.

Value-add is what I like most! I haven't read David Green's book on BRRRR but it's on the list.

@Michael Tierney

I appreciate your insight! I do like the idea of staying local because I have grown up here and know the area well. The Asheville CREIA meetup is definitely in my plans for the near future.

Hey BP!!

I am not new to BiggerPockets, I have been listening to the podcast for several years now but just now deciding to take action on the forum. I bought my first house for a live in flip and rent in December 2018. With this house I currently have a HELOC and looking to use this to buy my first rental. Right now I am leaning more heavily towards cash flow through small multi family but I want some experienced advice! I am interested in charlotte, Winston Salem, Greenville, Spartanburg, Greer, Anderson, Asheville, Hendersonville, Canton, Maggie Valley. Really anywhere within 3 hours of Waynesville!

If you were in my shoes, what would you do???

Thanks!
