I also really can't answer the mortgage question without knowing where you live or what you do or how many roommates you want to get. Can you elaborate?

I'm a little east of Tampa in an area called Brandon. I'm currently a sales assistant at a construction company only making $12 an hour so obviously not a lot. The ultimate goal would be to have 3 roommates, each taking on a bedroom. The price in this area range quite a bit for a 3 bedroom/2 bath. Anything livable seems to start around $180k on the lower end and just goes up from there.

Hey guys, so I've been intrigued by real estate investing since I was 16. I've saved since I've started working and now at 18, I'm close to the point where I can buy my first house. I'm looking to buy a house that's close to a 3 bed, 2 bath house. I'd rent out the 3 bedrooms and turn another area into an area where I would sleep. I'm just not sure what I should be looking for as far as price. I know I could get about $450 per room, but I'm not sure how high of a mortgage I should take on. Any comments or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
