I am located in Massachusetts and will be doing business to start in FL. I may start out here in Taxachusetts but am not sure. I have not dug in too deeply in the search function but have read a bit. I would like to start out in the Buy and Hold market. The more I read the more I get confused. Of course I want the greatest tax advantage but I also want to be separate from my business. I always feel that an LLC always has a back door that can be circumvented and I be held liable for one reason or another.

I will not be making my 1st investment for another 6 months which gives me time to organize. If you're a local CPA I would like to hear from you. If you've done this and are knowledgeable about it I would like to hear from you too. I need to absorb as much as I can. This 1st property will be purchased with monies from my HELOC.

I will be in the same boat as Jack B at the beginning of 2017. I bought the ugly kid on the block. Beautiful neighborhood, dead end street fantastic school system. I am in construction management and it will cost me $100k to net $200k in equity. I will be looking for rental properies as well as property management. Feel free to contact me as I am very willing to listen and learn.

Thanks in advance.

I am looking forward to working with the people here. The dialog I see go back and forth looks informative.

This is my 1st post here to BP so forgive me if it is repetitive. I am looking to invest in income producing properties in FL. Right now I am looking from St. Pete's to New Port Richie. I am not opposed to other locals but have colleagues investing in the area with great success. I will not be purchasing till late summer/early fall 2016 but would like to hear from those in the know. I have a good, as far as personal people I know who use them, property management company in the area but would like to be educated more on the subject.

I am looking to purchase 2 properties to start. Probably in the $40K - $60K range. Please chime in. It's greatly appreciated.
