hey everyone, this year I built an investment property and it ended up not going as planned and at the end of it all I’m probably going to break even or lose some money. I’m constantly worrying, I was wondering if there is anyone I can talk to about the situation that’s gone through the something similar?
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice. I’m 32 years old and live in Ontario Canada. I’ve done really well in the past few years building houses and selling them so I decided to build a cottage to rent out for a year to sell. In Ontario you have to rent out a house you build before you sell unless you have a special license.
The house ended up costing more than expected and to rent out and sell in a year I could possibly take a loss of 50k or more. Right now the rental income covers most costs and I’m going to be paying 600 a month of my own money.
I have a lot of money tied up in the house that I can’t use for future investments. I guess the question is should I sell in a year and take the loss so I can find better investments? or keeping renting it out for a couple years and try and make my money back? Thanks any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi guys. I'm just building a STR and I'm going to need to furnish it when I'm done to rent it out. I was wondering if anyone knows of a company that you buy (no rentals) and furnish your whole rental within Ontario or Canada? Like a wholesaler? Thanks, Jordan.

Hi guys, I'm looking to invest in rental properties in the Niagara Falls area and I'm looking for a real estate agent or investors to work with that have experience with income properties themselves in this area! Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

Hi Mark, I don’t think there’s going to be as much profit as there has been in the last few years but I do believe there’s always going to be money in building especially if you know where to save costs.

When I was building my portfolio, I called every single agent in the areas I was looking into and told them what I wanted to do and what I was looking for. Some took me seriously, some didn't. The ones that did won the business and were motivated to continue to find me more deals because I closed them and was able to build a $9-figure portfolio.
I also kept my options open and would work with whoever brought the deals my way.
Okay thanks for the advice! I have looked on Air BnB and Vrbo to compare pricing. I was just wondering if anyone knew if it shows vacancy statistics? I'm trying to figure out what is the best type of rental to build in that area and what rents out best? thanks!
Hi guys, I'm building my first STR cottage in Oliphant, Ontario, Canada just past Sauble Beach on the south bruce peninsula. I was wondering if you have any reccomendations on what program to use to find out local rental rates and vacancy rates and other info in that area? I've heard a lot about Air DNA and I was wondering if its worth it? and what your experiences are? as it is quite expensive. Or if you know of any other programs that would work? Can't wait to hear from the community. Thanks, Jordan
