@Alan Asriants Thank you for the advice! I do not want to own a business but rather, a smaller portfolio of 30 units or less that is sustainable and provides financial freedom. A mention househacking in C class neighborhoods because that would cash flow more than A and B, but I still need to do a lot of research in my market. Good luck in your real estate endeavors!

Hello all! My name is Jordan Simmons, and I am looking to buy my first house-hack in the Houston area by the end of 2025. I currently live at home and work as an accountant for an oil and gas company. I am looking to buy a duplex or house with an ADU in a class C neighborhood that is preferably outside city limits. My long-term goal is to own 18+ units and be financially independent by the age of 35. If anyone has insights into this market and what areas to avoid, it would be greatly appreciated!
