Howdy from Houston, everyone!

My name is Jose and I'm a newcomer to the world of Real Estate Investing. I have zero experience, but a ton of interest and drive. I've picked up some personal finance/RE investing books, and I'm working on developing a better understanding of the industry.

My goal for Real Estate Investing is to become financially independent. I am an engineer working in O&G, and I love what I do, but at the end of the day, I would prefer to not have to work for a paycheck.

I'm very interested in "house hacking" and buying rental properties, but I'm here to learn about everything as well. I found out about bigger pockets through a coworker that suggested it as a good jumping off point for my interests in REI.

Post: So what's holding you back?
