Carl G.: In the short time "lurking" and then joining BP, I've already learned quite a bit and had a chance to meet some great individuals. As general consensus supports, contributing and being as active as possible in the community will help you get to where you want quicker... Great step joining BP and best wishes on your endeavors!

Figen M. :) on the engineer comment... Agreed that it makes sense to network with those in our local communities. As can be seen from the overwhelmingly positive responses on this and the other threads Greg Smith has been posting chronicling his endeavors, the experiences, struggles and successes of others can motivate those that may have the desire to jump into the metaphorical pool but just need a little friendly nudge.

Greg, much like everyone else, I must say that your relentless commitment and dedication despite the setbacks and lapses in motivation is brilliant. Keep it up!

@Carolina E: thanks and will do...
@Steven Del Prete and @Figen M.: Good to meet locals in the industry... What are the challenges a.k.a opportunities for innovative solutions, that you've found thus far in the NJ territory?
@Ibrahim S: Thanks for the warm welcome... In the past few weeks, I've already read quite a few of your insightful posts. Thanks for the valuable contribution you provide from your experience. I will be focusing initially on Hudson and Bergen counties with plans for further expansion in the future. Even still, I'm also opportunistically investigative to other areas as well.

My name is Jason, I'm in my early 20s and am embarking on building a career in REI. Like many that are newer to the industry I'm starting in the Wholesaling arena with plans to segue into rehab/flips and eventually long-term investment rental properties. Outside of REI, I have a career in the IT space, having worked at various large financial firms in the NY/NJ area and now as a Solutions Architect at a small firm in the network appliance space.
In the few weeks that I've been reviewing info here on BP, I have been very impressed with the sheer volume of talent and knowledge present in the community; it's truly humbling to see just how much there is to learn.
I look forward to speaking with, meeting and creating relationships with many of you here in the weeks, months and years to come, learning from the experience of and contributing to the success of others via meaningful collaboration as well as successfully fulfilling short and long-term REI goals that I've set.
To an amazing, tremendous, exciting and profitable string of future yesterdays... Happy investing!!!
