Hey Everyone.  I am looking to buy an investment property in Houston and rent to section 8 tenants. I have the pay schedule from the Houston Housing Authority and am looking to rent in A or B tier zip codes.   Wanted to know how much of that would landlords actually receive.  What percentage of the pay schedule should I use in my analysis of a property?

What do you mean how much would you receive? You get all of it where else would it go ? PLEASE hire a PM co this will not end well. Learn, then if you want to self-manage ( i highly recommend NOT )  go on your own AFTER you learn,

Good luck

Thank you for the advice and reply!

I'm referring to the payment standards set by the Houston Housing Authority. I posted the link above. I heard that that is the maximum you can get. But I've also read in other House Housing Authority material that it cannot exceed the comparable market rent in the area. But the comparable market rent is much less than the rents posted on their payment standard.  So I'm wondering how much rent I can reasonably expect from the payment standards

Thank you for answering and the insight!

I was actually referring to the payment standards in the above link. The rent listed above is the maximum amount you can receive for housing, so I wanted to know what percent of that can I reasonably expect.
