I was definitely drawn in by the turn of the century homes, sq footage, and price. Seems like a tough area for an out of state deal.

Thanks so much for doing this Podcast. I’ve listened to it three times so far and started taking notes. I plan on grabbing David’s book too. And now I feel confident enough to try and make a smart first deal out of State. We we fortunate enough to purchase our primary mortgage right before things started getting outrageous (for us) in San Diego. Now looking to start in the Omaha, NE market.

My main issues right now are resources in Omaha. I have the agent contact. But no property management in place. No contractors. And no eyes on the ground.

@Mark Maly When I found it yesterday I knew there had to be something to it. I reached out to my Uncle last night whose wife lived there for 40 years. She said stay away. I’ve watched neighborhoods like this transform here in San Diego. I actually grew up in a neighborhood like this that is now the Hipster hub of SD. Send me a msg and maybe we can figure out a way to partner on the deal?

Hi there! Just wanted to reach out to the community. My name is Justin Robinson. Based out of San Diego area. I first started learning about real estate and financial independence in 2006 after reading “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”. Unfortunately I never followed through with the process and lost out on a lot of opportunities. But now after starting a family and our own business. Buying a house and finally seeing the power of Real Estate I’m back in the game! Discovering the Biggerpockets Podcasts and website has been an amazing resource. I can’t wait to meet great people and learn more than I could ever wish about the process of becoming a better investor!

I’m a new investor based out of San Diego, Ca. Yesterday I came across an investor getting out of the game. They own a total of 28 properties in the Fontenelle area of N. Omaha. 12 are vacant and need extensive rehab. The others are rented out but I’m sure they need rehab as well. From what I could find out about the owner he seemed to be the cliche lower class neighborhood slum lord. I know it’s the lower class neighborhood with a lot of section 8 but does anyone know if there’s a revitalization going on there? I read that a lot of young professionals are moved my to the area? Could it be a good place to find deals? I have a meeting with an agent on Friday afternoon. I’d love some feedback. I’ve read that there is an attempt at economic development for he area. Any truth to that? Thanks much!
