Hello BiggerPockets!

My name is Josh! I'm new to Real Estate Investing and looking to get a start in GA. I've been listening to just about every BiggerPockets podcast and done quite a bit of reading (well, audio books) over the past few months, however I still feel a bit lost. I always learn best by doing, and yet am cautious which seems to keep me from doing. From what I've learned, I think I want to start out with multi-family. My wife and I are looking to move out of our apartment and think living in our first investment may be a good idea. We are looking for a duplex, triplex, or fourplex. I think my biggest hurdle right now though is finding properties to analyze, and knowing which ones are worth analyzing.

I think I should probably be talking to an agent and seeing what they can help me find. I don't know much about what I'm seeing on sites like Zillow, and I also don't know how to tell what each unit in a multi family can rent for.

I'm Josh Whitman. My wife and I live in Fayetteville, GA and are looking to buy our first home. I've thought for a while now that I would want to try my hand at real estate investing, and decided that this could be the perfect opportunity. I intend to find a distressed property in the area to fix and flip. I've been listening to the BiggerPockets podcasts for a while and think it's something my wife and I could do, as long as we don't bite off more than we can chew.

I plan to spend the next few weeks looking over the site's forums and articles, because at this point I simply don't know what questions I need to ask.
