Hi BP Community,
My name is Karim, and I'm currently a college student in Boston. Real Estate investing has captured my interest, and I'm excited to start my journey in this field as soon as possible. I've already discussed this passion with my family, and we've come up with an exciting possible opportunity.
Here's the plan: My sister lives and works in California, specifically around Oakland or Martinez, but she's presently back home in Senegal (our country of origin) for the next few months. She'll be returning to California in October for a year, and during our discussions, we thought about the possibility of purchasing a property for her to live in initially. Once she moves out, the idea is to turn it into our first rental property. However, we are well aware of the sky-high property prices in California, and we currently have approximately $20,000 saved up for a down payment.
Considering the current market conditions, we would greatly appreciate any tips, advice, or insights that you kind folks may have regarding the feasibility of our plan. Your valuable input could make a world of difference for us and would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Hello BP community,
I'm currently a college student in Boston and would love to get started in REI. I've made a plan to save up money while in college to buy my first House Hack once I graduate. I still wanted to get started in REI while in college though so I've taken an interest in wholesaling. I was wondering if anybody has some tips for me on how to get started and wholesale my first property while in Boston as a student?
Thank you!
Hi all!
I'm a current college student in Boston and have taken a huge interest in RE, especially house hacking. I'm very new to this and have been trying to educate myself through books, podcast, youtube etc... I was looking at properties near my school and have found one that seems like it would be a good investment to house hack in. I wanted to get your thoughts on house hacking as a college student. Since I'm so new to this I'm sure there are many pieces of the puzzle that I might be missing. I was thinking of maybe even doing this deal with someone who has more experience and capital (since I would need to raise money for a downpayment) but I'm not quite sure how to go about it. Would this be a good idea to pursue or should I wait to graduate before entering the RE world?
