@Bruce Runn you can have both but only if you do the FHA first.

you wouldn't happen to be in contact with one of those people who have went from house hack to house hack? are they on bigger pockets?

@Bruce Runn I'm currently locked into a property using a VA loan and I'm trying to lineup my next purchase in a year or so.

I was contemplating backing out of my current deal because I thought that I was making a mistake by not using a FHA FIRST then going VA, thinking that would allow me to buy two properties for lowdown.

if I'm understanding right, it won't matter what loans I use, the banks are going to see that I already have a property and make it very difficult or impossible for me to go less than 25% down on the next property..

In light of this, I'm thinking it would be wise for me to back out and purchase a 4 unit instead of a duplex. 🤔 I'll be able to save faster for that next large 25%.

@Bruce Runn Thank you for your response! from what I have learned so far the underwriter stops this. Completely at their discretion. Am I correct?

Has anyone house hacked repeatedly and continuously got 3% 5%-10% down year after year? Duplex? triplex? How many times did you do it? What were your obstacles?

@Pat Needham, what did you end up doing for your second purchase. Did you get a good percentage?

@Bob Wilson I could try that. It would add at least 45 days to the transaction.

Yes They do need to be owner occupied, witch I plan on doing one after the other.

@Steve Bracero I am debt free 😉 the only money that I will owe in the future are my properties.

@Anthony Thompson my deposit is only 2,500 and that pales in comparison of what 20% down would be on a 380-450k property a year from now. Wile having 6 months reserves also.
