@Russell Brazil Very well, you think buying a rowhome and living in the basement while renting out the top portion is good idea. Can I expect a rent of $3000-$3500 for a 3 bed 2 bath (only top portion)  in the DC neighborhoods i mentioned ? If that’s possible,  DC one would be ideal since it’s appreciates faster like you said. 

Hello members, 

So I have a budget of 750k, and reading some of the posts here I found out that some neighborhoods in DC like petworth, Columbia heights, Brightwood are good places to invest for row homes. But a friend of mine told me other day, they are building new homes in 22042 zip code of Falls church city, around the same budget, lower too 650-800k. So what would be better you guys think ?  I am single, I will be living in the place for 1 year cause of the loan. Mainly looking for cash flow & best appreciation.
