To all experts in section 8 investment, do you know how to find the sub markets in cuyahoga county? Section 8 determines rent offers based on sub-markets and other factors. If an investor can find a sub-market that has a section 8 defined rent range that is appealing, that can be the first step of a sound investment strategy. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I know someone who has dealings with CMHA on the west side. Same size house with same number of bedrooms and condition can have $200-$300 rent price differences. Don't know if these are clerical errors or rent price fluctuation. CMHA is supposed to evaluate prices based on private market price, correct? I doubt the private market price can have up to $300 differences if they are in similar condition. So it is difficult to make a buy not knowing what the rent price will be, if we go with the section 8 route.

Need some help from the savvy investors in the forum. I am looking to get into section 8. Obviously one of the most important steps is to identify a property and then figure out how much section 8 will pay for it (assuming S8 will pay 100%). Does anyone have experience with this? How do we know how much the Government will pay? Thanks in advance!
