Hello! 

A little late to this thread, just looking to see if there are any meet-ups in the MOnmouth County area? We currently invest in Vermont but we're from Monmouth County ( Long Branch, Red Bank & Ocean county) and are looking to move back and start investing. thanks!

@Waverly Rennie thank you for this response, it is very encouraging! I have heard good things about Dunedin, and would love to find a fixer upper to work on over the next few years while our youngest is still in HS. I wont be back to the area until April, cant wait to explore more! Your rental is really lovely. here a link to ours, maybe we'll swap some week :)

following. Ive been looking- loosely- at condos & SFH's in the St. Pete area. Dunedin, Clearwater, Redington... hard to findanything that would make a great year round rental is the AIRBNB thing gets shut down. Would love to hear which areas are solid for this type of investment: year-round AND vacation rental. Thanks! I'm thinking maybe in ST.Pete or closer to Tampa would be better year-round, and the beaches for short term, but whats the middle ground place?

I think this is a great and growing movement. My 19 yo daughter is looking into building a tiny home, it just makes so much sense to stay out of debt, especially here in a rural place like VT. Good luck :)

you did Kim, thanks! We're heading down in a few weeks to check out a few southern cities. I didn't want to waste her time until we get a little more focused on one area :) thank you!

Would love to hear about what you fine. We are investors from VT, hoping to find something similar, but under 300K for a sf, 450 multi. We love the Redington area, Madeira beach is where we stay when we go down. St Pete has some great neighborhoods, but yes, farther from the beach. 

Following. We might find ourselves in this same situation shortly. Currently in VT, hoping to invest in Pinnelas County...once we rule out the rest of the the south east...:)

Following. We live in Vermont now, but hope to make our next investment in the ST.Pete, Madira Beach, Clearwater area. We've been vacationing there for years and love the area, but the prices seem high for investment/fixer uppers. We're in the research phase of this transition and hope to learn from people who know that area.
