Depending on the length of time you have to put it away, tax liens are an option. I recently invested my and my partners money in some because we knew we were going to be a while before buying property (your money can be tied up for as long as a year, but typically you'll have about 75% back in 12 months or less.) In my area the money earns up to 1% per month (interest is only paid on the starting bid, anything over is dead weight) while also giving you the opportunity to get a property with the lien. We actually ended up getting a great property out of the deal and will be selling it soon for a huge profit! Hope this helps.
Hello everyone. I am a 22 year old graduate student at Wake Forest University. I plan on moving to the Charlotte area post graduation and would love to begin my real estate journey soon after I grab that diploma. I have already begun checking out properties but would love to know some of the better areas around for picking up some hidden-value rentals.
