I am looking for an investor friendly handyman on the south side of Chicago (south shore area).  Does any one have any recommendations?

Eric, just because Section 8 allows that amount of rent for a 3 and 4 bedroom does not mean that you will get it.  I recently inherited a section 8 tenant and attended a CHA class to learn more about what is required of me.  CHA will only approve you if your rent amount is near the market amount of other units within a 1 mile radius.  So if the building is not in a area where market rents for a 3 bedroom are $1500+ don't, don't expect to get that amount.   Also, CHA is very strict with units that will have children under 6 y/o.  So your cost of getting the building (yes building not just the unit) ready may eat into your planned returns.  I would suggest attending a CHA landlord class and then determine if it will truly be 100% returns.

Can anyone recommend a good HVAC repair person/company? I am on the southeast side of Chicago, in the south Chicago neighborhood and my AC has a burning smell when running. Thanks.
