Hello,

I'm a real estate agent, my client is selling / renting out an apartment that was occupied by a previous tenant and needs major cleaning, wall painting and fix some lights and a crack on the kitchen backsplash. I'm in NYC, does anyone have a recommendation for a company or person who can do a good job?

Thanks in advance

Ling

@Matt B., thank you for the input. Investing in SI won't be a viable option for me at this moment then.

Thank you. Good to have a benchmark. Is $200k for a single family house? What is a rough number for a two family house?

NYC investors,

For those of you who live or invest  in Staten Island, do you happen to have any thoughts on what areas are still good to invest at this moment?

What do you think of Mariner's Park? Is it a good area to invest?

Thanks

Ling

Dear all,

I'm new to short sale. I saw online a few multifamily short sales in my area (nyc)  that I'm interested in viewing and buying. Some of the descriptions say you could only submit offer without viewing. How to submit an offer?

Could I give an offer lower than the asking price?

Is working with a short sale real estate agent a must in this case? If so, do you have a recommendation for new york city area?

Anything else I need to know for the deal to go through?

Thank you

Ling

Hi all,

Thanks for all your replies and connections.

Found Real Estate Investors Association NYC (REIA NYC), is it a good idea to become a member of this organization?

thanks for your input

Hi Lauren, thank you for the information. What property types are there in the Catskills, mostly single families, multi or other types? Are they easy to rent out? What would you recommend doing to start looking around Kingston and Saugerties? Any websites?

Thanks, Steve. I have the feeling that might be the case in NY. I would not mind investing out of state.

But is it a totally different beast? How do I keep control of the out of state properties? Do I have to hire a management company? What are the close by states you'd recommend to look?
