Haha, I did lose everything, I just remembered a lot of stuff I had and went back and redownloaded or picked it up. The link to my page is in my signature. Warning, it looks rather I dunno like a sales pitch.

Did you write the content (by content I mean words and sentences not internet language) of your squeeze page yourself? Just wondering, because I'm trying to make a squeeze page, and when I look at other peoples' it just seems like something I could never write myself, they are all so cheezy and sales pitchy. I'm sure it works, just saying I couldn't phrase it myself.

Lol, yes I wrote it myself. I did make sure to start off by announcing I'm not spam and where I live and what I do. Hopefully that curbs some of it although who ever believed a spamvertiser right? Unfortunately their ways are the best way if you are trying to get somewhere with your ad. I just mad mine short relevant, and to the point. Make sure to tell people what you can d for them and not talk about yourself too much.

Good Luck,

Michael

I thought it might be interesting to see what made many here decide they wanted to be Real Estate investors in life. I also thought it might be interesting to know how long they took to get up and decide to do their first deals, and what made them keep on trucking during those hard times in the beginning. What were the major motivations that made you put your heart into it?

For me, initially I just wanted to create something that moved. What I mean is that it did not have to necessarily be real estate, but any company that could run itself without me. I guess I have loved business for a very long time. When I saw "Bugsy" it reminded me of me to the T. No, not the gangster aspect of it. but Ben Siegel's ideal for wanting to create the casino. As Meyer Lansky stated during the movie, "It's not about the money. Everyone here knows that Ben's never respected money. It's about an idea. Something that he created." That's how I have always felt. Sure the money could be nice, but I live more for the challenge of creating a living breathing entity that can survive on it's own, something I created. Like Frankenstein. I love the challenge of having to use my mind to be creative and strategic, of having to think outside of the box. I love how I will always have to be aware of whats going on around me, not only competition wise, but economically and environmentally as well. Like a game of chess or poker, you always have to think 5 hands ahead.

Real estate seems the best vehicle to make this opportunity possible. With real estate you can come in at any point and bevirtually equal with your competition. Your customer's (motivated sellers) do not know brand names in this industry because it is not one they shop usually more then once in a lifetime. With this your success is equaled to your creativity and motivation. How bad do you want it. You could literally surpass seasoned investors who have been in the game for a long time by sheer creativity in marketing. This is usually not possible in retail businesses because the majority shop the brand names. Plus, the thought of acquiring beautiful properties in diverse places is a reward in itself.

What has motivated me (in the little time, but really a long time if you count all business ventures)? The fact that no one thinks I'm capable of doing much more then anything in life. The fact that I am not happy in a job environment where I am not allowed creativity and thinking outside of the box, and my intelligence is limited to what "they" say I am to do. Mostly, I want to create the "idea", just like Bugsy did. He lost his life behind it because he wanted it that much. I can respect that because he felt like he wasn't truly living if he wasnt living for his dreams and what he believed in.

Anybody else?

Great post Rich! I totally agree with what your saying. I remember just coming on here for the first time at the end of May and having no clue. At that point I wanted to bird dog. Since then I have been studying every resource I can get my hands on. I have established an LLC, and have a website. I have an ad in the newspaper geared for my buyers list, and have been nonstop brainstorming on marketing techniques to get motivated sellers once my buyers list is built up a little more.

Yes I'm sure to make plenty of mistakes along the way, and I welcome them. As you said, they are your greatest teacher. I cannot sit around my whole life trying to get others to teach mye the game, and why should they. Before I labeled myself homeowner, now I label myself investor, even though I haven't actually done a deal yet, I will soon.

So I'm looking forward to the challenge ; )

Plus it feels more realistic to be able to leave this signature if I want,

Woohoo! I defied the odds, got back a lot of the important things I lost by remembering where to find them, have much more room in my memory, and completed my squeeze page all cheap and cheesy looking to point potential buyer list prospects too. I did it all by myself with no help in creating it (well, a little video tutorial but..) or uploading it to my webhost:

Yup today at 4:30pm was 11 complete days. I quit after listening to one of Zig Ziglars motivationals. I've had plenty of gum on hand and just dived into preparing my business and marketing campaign.

So between the motivationals, Proverbs, and faith in what I want to accomplish, I have beat it.

And big props to those of you who have beat it and dipping as well. The price and health aspects are just some of the reasons it's no good.

As stated, I was starting to feel like a leper when I smoked, even in the bars!

You know it's funny, my grandmother hasn't smoked in about 40 years. She tells me that even now, sometimes she'll still get that urge to smoke a cigarrette. So it's not so bad when you know that even the veterans still deal with the urges and that it means nothing that I still get urges a month down the road.

Unfortunately no. Worst part is I've depended so much on my Norton 360 password manager over the last few years that now when I lost Norton and had to reinstall I lost all of my passwords. I have so many emails I cant even remember some email addresses or the passwords that went with them for some sites I was on.

The frustration has been too much this morning. When I kept having a world of trouble loggin onto here over about a 10 minute period I ended up finally losing it and kicking the door on my entertainment center and breaking it. Between the passwords, losing 2 years worth of information and an entire day worth of work/progress and the fact that I quit smoking within the last 10 days, I'm losing it lol

Lol well, I just made the best of the situation. I can be somewhat of a packrat on the computer never deleting stuff. Since I lost so much already I decided to do a factory reset and start from scratch

Cleaner and faster and learned a valuable lesson in the process.

Thank Goodness i have my Android while its resetting

Well i just lost a couple of years. Route trying to download something for my web page i ended up ovewritting every file on my desktop. All of my gigs of music and zig ziglar and other stuff that i had on there including many hours of documents are all now gone. Including the squeeze page i spent 4-5 hours on
