I understood that high bid to be the price to redeem now. Is that incorrect? If so then you wouldnt be doing a short sale would you?

I have noticed the banks are still bidding in some cases well below what was owed on the mortgage at the sheriff sale. If you were to go to the homeowner could you purchase the property for that lowered amount? Is there a better way to do this? I have searched through the archives and found a few discussions on this topic but not much in how to approach this. Any thoughts?

I am seeing this a lot here also. What are some of you doing that relied on this area to get houses?

I was just speaking as two equal remodels (finishes, colors, appliances, etc) would CA be significantly more expensive than say Utah?

My inlaws are looking to have a full kitchen remodel done in their home in San Diego. They have received a few seemingly very high bids. I was wondering if anyone out there had a contractor they would recommend in their area? Also for anyone out there that has rehabbed properties in California as well as other states have you noticed a significant difference in pricing? Thanks!

Just wondering if the downpayment for CRE could come from a gift, another mortgage, etc or if it has to be your own funds and verified in your own acct. Thanks

Where can a downpayment come from for CRE? Same criteria as SFR? Thanks

Also, investing in notes would not be considered fully passive. In order to find the notes, service them and collect when they default is FAR from passive! If everything goes really well and you bought a note through a broker then I suppose it could be fairly passive but we all know this is not a "perfect" business!
