Ok, so I've never done any RE investing before. I have been educating myself through BP and others sources and I am leaning towards starting with doing "no money" wholesale deals (seeing as I'm broke as a joke lol). But I have been doing some thinking about joining the local REIA here in NYC in support of these prospective deals..... is this a good move at this stage in the game being a newbie?
Thank you Joshua. That's exactly the type of hard pitch Renatus was trying to give. Generally it isn't ideal or smart for someone in my position to take on a $8-20k debt to get started in REI.

thanks Michael!
Hello BP community....
I recently came across a real estate investment Community opportunity by the name of Renatus. I went to their prospective members presentation and I am very intrigued by it, especially the fact that they have a Community of real estate investors present right here in New York City. Does anyone have any thoughts about this company or have they had any experiences? I would love to hear anybody feedback, negative or positive, but please please please don't comment if you have no experience or knowledge of this company and are just speculating about what it is. Thank you.

Greetings BiggerPockets Community....
I am brand new to the BP community and to real estate investing. I was at one point a title examiner for a few real estate law firms and title companies so I am familiar with some terminology. I am a professional musician and music teacher by trade. But I have recently made the concious decision to pursue REI as a means to provide the financial strength needed to make a debt free life as well as to give me the ability and time to pursue music on MY terms. I currently live in Brooklyn, New York and would love the opportunity to take on a mentor if possible. To all in the community, I welcome you to stop by my page and introduce yourself. Thank you for your time and I look forward to speaking with you.
