Thank you Steven. No doubt you are over run right now and I appreciate your response.

I dont E-file. I have a 1065 return for the LLC, a Federal return, a state corporate return and a state personal return. I always end up paying so I send it in the last few days so I can ride my money a little longer. Not to mention that I make a mistake from time to time and if I print it out and let it marinate for a day or two I catch them and get them fixed. Once you hit "Send" on E-File the game is over.

I don't prepare by hand. I use H&R Block Tax Cut Personal and Business. It's pretty good but if you check one box wrong you end up with things you might not want.

In this case it printed out Form SE and I just couldn't see how I needed that, nor the added tax that goes along with it. I found where I checked the wrong box and have now fixed it.

Now I need to go back to 2010 and file an amended return because that is where the check box came from.

I have a two member LLC that owns a small apartment building. We file Forms1065 and 8825. Don't file Sch. E, it isn't necessary when you file 8825.

The income from rent shows up on Line 17, Form 1040.

Since the income is only from rental of apartments is it necessary to also file
Sch. SE and get hit for self employment tax as well?
